Series of informative and interactive workshops for teachers
and students (grades 7- college/university) held annually.
Students join Opera Atelier's creative team and see what it
takes to produce a Baroque opera. This series of informative and interactive
workshops for students and teachers (grades 7- college/university)
is held annually in conjunction with Opera Atelier’s
fall production.
Students will work with activities in the following curriculum
areas: Music, Dance, Visual Arts, History, Social Studies
and Career Planning. Students will become aware of the
great works of the l7th and l8th centuries while learning
how an opera, the most comprehensive of all the performing
arts, is put together.
Students and teachers are invited to attend a dress rehearsal
at the historic Elgin Theatre. The Program, tied in with Opera Atelier's fall production,
provides students and teachers with a thorough background
on baroque opera and ballet.
THE MAKING OF AN OPERA supports arts programs in the schools
and meets with the Ontario Arts curriculum for education.
