We have now completed two performances of Figaro and I could not be happier! The performers have lost none of their edge and the production continues to grow and change every time the artists step onto the stage.

Opera Atelier’s new production of The Marriage of Figaro is visually stunning (both Gerard Gauci’s set design and Martha Mann’s costumes are dazzling), funny, irreverent, contemporary and wonderfully choreographed and acted – a great night of music and laughter.

Opera Atelier’s Figaro established last night that one can never have too much of a good thing. I can’t believe it is already dress rehearsal. This is the big event we all anxiously await but end up dreading once it arrives. Is it ever possible to feel well prepared for dress? I dont think so. Nevertheless, we have an incredibly beautiful, funny irreverent show on our hands which has taken on a life of its own.
Part of the frustration of waiting for dress rehearsal to arrive is tied in with the fact that we are forced to do technical rehearsals with only a piano for accompaniment. Our accompanists are spectacular but nothing can save the sound … Read more
