1. What is your idea of perfect happiness?

Uninterrupted rehearsal with artists I love and admire.

2. What is your greatest fear?

Lacking the means to realize my dreams.

3. What is the trait you most deplore in yourself?

Anxiety.

4. What is the trait you most deplore in others?

Procrastination.

5. Which living person do you most admire?

Jesus Christ.

6. What is your greatest extravagance?

Books.

7. What is your current state of mind?

Positive/stimulated.

8. What do you consider the most overrated virtue?

Caution.

9. On what occasion do you lie?

When I wish to achieve what I believe to be the greater good.

10. What do you most dislike about your appearance?

Too thin.

11. Which living person do you most despise?

I don’t despise anyone.

12. What is the quality you most like in a man?

A stimulating and articulate intelligence, a sense of humour, and good looks.

Marvelous.

My partner in love and life, Jeannette Lajeunesse Zingg.

16. When and where were you happiest?

With Jeannette - early in the morning, in front of the Dragon Fountain on the grounds of Versailles – the morning after Opera Atelier's debut of Lully’s Armide in the Royal Opera House.

17. Which talent would you most like to have?

I wish I could paint and sculpt.

18. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

I would like to be more aggressive.

19. What do you consider your greatest achievement?

Myself at 18, knowing all that I know now.

21. Where would you most like to live?

The town of Versailles.

22. What is your most treasured possession?

I cannot possibly choose. I am hopelessly attached to my possessions!

23. What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery?

To be governed by fear.

24. What is your favorite occupation?

Rehearsing.

Dogged determination.

Loyalty.

Ovid, Thackery, Tolstoy and Colette.

Ulysses and Penelope in the Iliad and the Odyssey.

George Balanchine.

George Balanchine, Winston Churchill, Michelangelo.

Lucca, Celeste and Celina.

People who are ill-prepared and late for appointments.

A lack of artistic direction as a child.
