Opera Atelier 2026/27 Season: A Season of Heroes
Opera Atelier’s 2026/27 season explores powerful stories of transformation, sacrifice, and triumph in two extraordinary productions at Koerner Hall.
The season opens with the Canadian fully-staged premiere of Marc-Antoine Charpentier’s The Descent of Orpheus, a haunting retelling of the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice. Featuring tenor Daniel McGrew and soprano Mireille Asselin, the production brings together Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra and Chamber Choir, the Artists of Atelier Ballet, designs by Gerard Gauci, and choreography by Jeannette Lajeunesse Zingg, and staging by Marshall Pynkoski.
The season concludes with the return of Handel’s The Resurrection, conducted by David Fallis and featuring Carla Huhtanen, Meghan Lindsay, Mireille Lebel, Antonin Rondepierre, and David Witczak.
