Volunteer

Opera Atelier is a registered not-for-profit organization that is supported by an incredible team of volunteers, who make sure we can continue our mission of rediscovery and revitalization of period opera and ballet. Our volunteers come from a variety of skill sets and backgrounds, all dedicated to the continued success of the organization. We are always looking for people who can contribute any amount of time and energy to aid us in delivering quality performances and educational programming to the community at large.

In turn, Opera Atelier Volunteers receive:

• Tickets to mainstage performances for each shift worked
• Access to events and presentations normally reserved for donors
• Opportunities to learn how live events organizations function
• Exclusive deals and opportunities from partner organizations
• Deeper connections to community organizations and like-minded opera patrons!

There is no experience necessary and no minimum commitment to join our email list. Calls for volunteers go out regularly with more details about specific shifts – volunteer as much or as little as you’d like! Volunteering with Opera Atelier is also a great way for students to get volunteer hours and mentoring in various arts-related disciplines, such as Fundraising and Development, Audience Services, Marketing and more! We are happy to provide letters of reference to volunteers for any reason.

Typical Shifts and Duties

During the week (Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm):

• Administrative support
• Mailing assembly
• Donor Gift Assembly

Performance shifts (6-10pm for Evening Performances; 12pm – 5pm for Afternoon performances, Spring and Fall performances)

• Directional Guidance
• Supporting Pre-show lectures
• Ticket distribution
• Intermission and Post-show Reception assistance

Special Events (Midday, Weekends through the summer)

• Flyer Distribution
• Giveaway support
• Booth/Display setup and teardown
