Ticketing Policy

OA Terms and Conditions of Ticket Sales

All sales are final. Payment is processed immediately on receipt of order, after which there are no cancellations or refunds. It is the responsibility of the ticket holder to check their ticket for the correct performance, day of the week and curtain time. Programs and artists are subject to change without notice. Opera Atelier reserves the right to change ticket prices without notice. Any difference in ticket price is not eligible for reimbursement.

Ticket holders assume all responsibility for any risk or bodily harm or loss of property sustained while attending any Opera Atelier event at any venue, and waive all right to claim for damages resulting from any cause whatsoever either before, during, or after the event.

In response to the COVID-19 Pandemic, Opera Atelier is working with our venue partners to ensure a safe Return to Live Theatre. Special considerations regarding the current situation in our communities may be taken into account when applying these policies on a case-by-case basis. Opera Atelier follows all current municipal and provincial public health guidelines, as do our partner venues.

Exchanges

Subscribers are entitled to exchange their tickets to a different performance of the same opera, free of charge, subject to availability. Subscribers may be responsible for any additional costs incurred by exchanging into higher price categories or price fluctuations. Any changes resulting in a lower ticket price will be forfeited and are not eligible for a refund.

Exchanges must be made 48 hours prior to the printed performance time by calling the respective venue’s box office. Exchanges less than 48 hours may be subject to a service fee, as determined by the venue box office. Single ticket exchanges are not guaranteed and may be subject to a service fee, as determined by the respective venue’s box office.

Ticket Cancellations

All sales are final. Single Tickets are non-refundable, unless otherwise dictated by Opera Atelier or its agents based on extreme circumstances to be determined at the Audience Services Coordinator’s sole discretion.

Subscribers may cancel their ticket no less than 48 hours in advance and receive a tax receipt for the value of their tickets. With less than 48 hours notice, conversion to a tax receipt is at the sole discretion of Opera Atelier. Tickets for a past performance cannot be cancelled for any reason.

Missed Performances and Latecomers

Ticket holders are responsible for verifying the correct date and time of their performance as printed on their ticket. Missed performances will not be refunded or exchanged. Latecomers may be admitted at the discretion of the front-of-house staff of the venue at a suitable break in the performance. Please note that due to varying lengths of productions, there may not be an opportunity to admit latecomers at all. It is best practice to arrive at the venue 30 minutes in advance of the performance time printed on your ticket.

Illness/Medical/Family Emergencies

If you are ill, or are experiencing a medical or familial emergency, please call the venue’s box office as soon as possible. At their discretion, the box office in consultation with Opera Atelier’s Audience Services Coordinator will work with you to provide options regarding your specific circumstance.

Inclement Weather

Opera Atelier is committed to honouring its performance schedule. All performances proceed as scheduled despite weather conditions and traffic delays. Due to the great costs of overtime, and the inconvenience to other patrons, performances will start promptly at the time printed on the ticket. It is the responsibility of the ticket holder to arrive in sufficient time to be in their assigned seat by the advertised starting time—please plan to arrive early. We regret that tickets not used due to inclement weather, traffic delays or public transit disruptions cannot be refunded or exchanged.

Etiquette and Disruptions

All patrons are subject to the etiquette policies of the venue hosting our performances. Those behaving in a manner inconsistent with those policies may be removed from the performance without refunds, at the discretion of the front-of-house staff. Opera Atelier will stand by our venue partner’s choices in this respect.

Content Warnings

In collaboration with our venues, Opera Atelier will attempt to provide accurate thematic warnings regarding the content of our productions. Patrons are ultimately responsible for determining the appropriateness of this material for those attending as part of their party. No refunds will be granted due to content audiences may find objectionable or disturbing.
