Free Main Floor returns on for the summer 2024 with live performances, educational activities for kids, and access to Royal Ontario Museum’s expansive first floor—all for free! Opera Atelier is thrilled to be back as a live presenter for these series of music and art in the beautiful Currelly Gallery of the ROM every Thursday in August.

Anna Sharpe has performed internationally with Opera Atelier both at the Royal Opera of Versailles in Paris and at the Harris Theatre, Chicago. Some favourite opera credits include Dido in Dido and Aeneas, Zulma in L’Italiana in Algeri, Ann in Hatfield’s Ann and Seamus at the Copenhagen Opera House and the Cork Opera House, and Nardil in Rob Ford; The Opera.

Timothy Cheung is a pianist and vocal coach based in Toronto. A graduate of multiple prestigious young artist programs — the Canadian Opera Company Ensemble Studio, the Merola Opera Program affiliated with San Francisco Opera, and Music Academy of the West — he has gone on to work extensively in Canada and the United States. At Palm Beach Opera, he served as the Principal Coach and the Head Coach of the Benenson Young Artist Program. At Teatro Nuovo in New York, formerly Bel Canto at Caramoor, he works in a hybrid role of music staff and administrator. Dedicated to working with young singers and education outreach, he has served as the music director for many young artist shows, such as Opera on the Go! at Opera Theatre of St. Louis.

Mr. Cheung holds a Master of Music in Collaborative Piano and Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from the University of Western Ontario.
