As all of you know, Opera Atelier recently made the heartbreaking decision to cancel our Spring production of Handel’s The Resurrection, in our effort to protect our artists, staff and loyal audience from the spread of COVID-19. All of our focus is on looking to Opera Atelier’s future – but the financial strain due to our current closure is enormous.
ON THE EVE OF OA’S 35TH ANNIVERSARY – A SEASON PLANNED AS A JOYFUL CELEBRATION – WE FIND OURSELVES FACING THE GREATEST RISK IN THE COMPANY’S HISTORY.
We have never had the luxury of amassing a huge endowment or war chest. Your donations have always served the art you see on stage and the loving care we lavish on only two productions per year. Even now, we are committed to providing you with exceptional online opportunities to connect with our artists and creative team as we work through this crisis.
In the meantime, Opera Atelier is working with the leanest, skeleton staff possible and I will be personally suspending my salary – but OA remains in desperate need of your generous assistance. With your help, we can weather this storm and emerge a stronger and more vibrant company.
We have chosen the image of The Infant Hercules, Subduing Two Serpents as Opera Atelier's image of hope, symbolizing our ability to overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles. Here's how you can help:
Please help us return beauty and joy to the world.

Planned Giving is making the decision today to provide for Opera Atelier’s future.
Planned giving is an important and meaningful way for you to
contribute to Opera Atelier’s ongoing success. A planned gift also gives you the satisfaction of knowing that future generations of artists and audiences will benefit from your dedication. A planned gift allows you to make a significant statement of support, often unlocking greater income while securing significant tax benefits. By choosing to make us a part of your legacy, you can help secure our artistic independence and enable future generations to experience the transformative magic of Opera Atelier while you contribute to the rich cultural fabric of our community long into the future.
HOW TO DONATE
Leaving a legacy gift is simple, and there are many ways to
do so. Options include remembering us directly in your will, retirement funds, stocks and securities, gifts-in-kind, charitable gift annuities, charitable remainder trusts, gifts of residual interest and life insurance.
If you are interested helping to secure the future of Opera
Atelier through planned giving, we would be honoured to discuss it with you and develop a plan that best suits your needs.
